A Fulton County, Ky., man reported an apparent scam to Union City police Monday afternoon.
The victim, a 49-year-old resident of Hickman, Ky., told police he had transferred money to an individual in Florida. In return, he allegedly was supposed to receive a $3,000 loan, according to a Union City Police Department report. After the transfer, though, he was contacted by another individual and told that in order to receive his loan, he would have to send more money. At that point, the Hickman man thought he had been scammed and he came to the police station in Union City to file a report.
During the interview with police shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, the victim went into convulsions and emergency medical services were summoned to assist. He was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City, according to the report.
Police spoke with the victim again later Monday night and informed him a report would be made, but since the incident occurred in Fulton County, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department would need to be contacted.
