It took awhile for Westview’s soccer game against South Gibson on Tuesday to be decided.
Ending 0-0 at the end of regulation, the Chargers eventually came out on top with 4-1 win on penalty kicks.
It was Westview’s second win in as many days, following a 2-1 verdict against Covington on Monday.

Conner Blanchard had five saves in regulation as the Chargers and Hornets went through 80 minutes of soccer without scoring.
The game was decided on penalty kicks, where the Chargers shined.
Nic Fortner, Jorge Fabian, Hagen Little and Gian Garma each netted a penalty kick past the SG goalkeeper, while Blanchard saved a pair of penalty kicks to give him seven saves for the game.
Westview can now wrap up the Eastern Division in Region 7 A-AA with a win over Trenton tonight and secure home field advantage in the regional tournament as the tournament shifts over to the winner of the Eastern Division this season.
Tonight’s game is also senior night for Westview.
The Chargers are now 8-4 on the season.
Westview 2, Cov. 1
The good teams win the close ones, and Westview is proving to be a good team this year after beating Covington on the road.
