UCHS cheer awards

BEST UCHS YELLERS — The 2012-13 Union City High School cheerleaders were honored for their seasonal accomplishments that included included a trip to the national competition in Florida and winning the sportsmanship award in the Class 1A girls’ state tournament during Monday night’s basketball banquet. Among those receiving individual accolades were (from left) Tara Elam, most dedicated; Jenna Miller, most spirited; Caroline Chism, newcomer award; and Ellen Bearden, best all-around. Teka Kennedy and Kim Sherwood served as the team’s coaches.
