| | For the 27th consecutive season, The Messenger recognized Obion County’s best senior prep basketball players by choosing its players of the year. Obion County Central’s Shaw Logan (from left) was chosen for this year’s boys’ honor, while OC’s Brandi Goodman and Tory Reedy of Union City were selected as co-players of the year for their efforts this past season. Logan averaged nearly 17 points per game for the Rebels, while Goodman was a Class 2A Miss Basketball finalist and two-time all-state pick for the Central girls. Reedy led the Lady Tornadoes to the Class 1A state championship game and was named all-district, all-region and to the all-state tournament teams. Making the presentations was longtime Messenger sports editor Mike Hutchens. | | | | |
