The UT Martin football team concluded its 15th and final spring practice Saturday morning with an intrasquad Spring Game scrimmage at Hardy Graham Stadium.
The Skyhawk offense piled up 638 total yards on its way to nine touchdowns, led by a dynamic passing game. Tyler Rice went 12 for 14 with 211 yards and four touchdowns, while Jarod Neal (153 yards, three touchdowns) and Dylan Favre (125 yards, one touchdown) also led the offense into the endzone on several drives.
Five different UT Martin wide receivers hauled in touchdown catches, with Chris Thompson (148 yards on six catches), Malik Generett (98 yards, five receptions) and Dylan Davis (48 yards, four catches) each accounting for two touchdowns apiece. Jeremy Butler (three catches, 87 yards) and DeAdrian Terry (two receptions, 51 yards) were also responsible for touchdown scores.
On the ground, Najee Ray’s 48 yards on 10 carries and touchdown led the way for a rushing attack that produced 149 total yards.
Defensively, newcomer DJ Jordan registered a game-high seven tackles, while Corey Rogers and Keith Jones each had a half-sack. Thad Williams, Walter Evans, DJ Roberts, Kevin Barfield and Amiri Hawkins all tallied a pass break-up, while James Ratliff, Tony Bell and Marcus Sease were credited with a quarterback hurry.
Kicker Jackson Redditt went a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, nailing kicks from 48, 37 and 35 yards out.
James Satterfield boomed two punts for an average of 43.0 yards with a long of 46 yards.
The Skyhawks open their 2013 slate on Aug. 29 at Chattanooga. Kickoff is tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m.
