Night scramble
at Fulton club

The Nite Lite Charity Golf Scramble will be held May 3 at the Fulton Country Club.
The format will be seven holes, four-person scramble, best ball and costs $25 per person to enter, which includes green fee, cart, dinner and one ball. Additional balls can be purchased for $3.
The event is limited to the first 14 teams and will begin at 6 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Lake Road selling
football jerseys

Lake Road football jerseys are on sale at the school.
Blue or white home jerseys will be sold for $25 each, while the older orange game jerseys will be on sale for $10 each.

Top ‘Pop’ team
wins by a stroke

Poplar Meadows Country Club held its weekly scramble Wednesday with the winning team shooting 6-under par.
The team included Jere Baldridge, Mike Revell, Matt Sanner, Brian Ferguson, John Graham and Mike Calfee.
Finishing in second at 5-under par was the team of Wynn Burnett, Alex Hopkins, Blake Miller, Rick Smith and Robert Huffstutter; and the team of Don Lyerly, Bruce Culver, Rodger Tanner, Skipper White and Randy Barnes.
Poplar Meadows Country Club holds its weekly scramble every Wednesday. The cost to participate is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
Participants are requested to register for weekly play by 2 p.m. each Wednesday.

Blackman player
signs with Vols

KNOXVILLE (AP) — Darius Thompson, a 6-foot-4 guard from Murfreesboro, has signed a national letter of intent to play for Tennessee.
Thompson averaged 16.4 points, 6.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 steals this season while leading Blackman High School to a 30-1 record and an appearance in the Tennessee Class AAA state quarterfinals. Blackman went 56-5 in Thompson’s final two seasons.
