Co-parenting classes have been set for parents filing for divorce who have children younger than 18. The class will be held Tuesday from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Obion County Public Library conference room at 1221 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City.
Only one parent per family may attend this session. The fee is $40 and must be paid in class with a check written to the University of Tennessee or with exact cash, according to a spokesman. No change will be made. Call Benita Giffin, University of Tennessee Extension Service Obion County Family and Consumer Science agent, at 885-3742 and leave a message that includes name and phone number. She will return the call. Voice mail may be left after office hours or those interested may also contact her at bgiffin1@utk.edu.
The class is educational only and no counseling or legal advice will be offered. The class will focus on how to help children and parents cope with the circumstances.
Mrs. Giffin will conduct the class.
