Ankle device removed Posted: Thursday, April 18, 2013 5:00 pm The Messenger, April 18, 2013 Union City police responded Wednesday night to a report that a Kentucky offender’s ankle bracelet for monitoring purposes had been tampered with. Police went to an address on High School Drive just before 10 p.m. at the request of a Fulton County, Ky., court official to check on an offender from Union City who was supposed to be wearing an ankle bracelet. He had received two tamper alerts coming from the bracelet, according to a Union City Police Department report. Union City police arrived at the woman’s residence to find the door open, but it appeared no one was inside. An officer reported he saw the ankle bracelet lying on the kitchen table, along with a homeguard device. The resident returned while police were there and told police she had pulled the ankle bracelet off using butter, according to the report. The Fulton County official asked Union City police to take the ankle bracelet and homeguard device so he could retrieve them the next day. No charges were filed by Union City police. |
