Bro. Bobby Peal opened our service singing “I Shall Not Be Moved.”
Edna Johle taught from John 15:5. Jesus said I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Congregational singing was “We Have Come Into His House” and “Victory Ahead.” Prayer requests were made and prayed over. Special singing was Melba Carson and Mary Jones harmonizing to “In the Garden.” Harvey Dildine sang “When He Comes In the Midst Of the Storm.”
We welcomed Velma Dildine who was visiting from Indiana.
No birthdays or anniversaries were given.
Bro. Bobby turned to Matthew 18:18, Genesis 6:8 and Judges 6. You and God are the minority as long as you depend on Him and listen when He speaks to you, whether through a scripture or a Christian.
Evening congregational singing was “Holy Ground,” “I Love You Lord” and “I Will Call Upon the Lord.” Mary sang “God On the Mountain.”
Bro. Bobby titled his message “Saved in the Nick of Time” and turned to Genesis 22:1-13, Genesis 2:20, John 3:17 and Romans 3:17, where Isaac was the only son of Abraham, but like Jesus, he (Abraham) was told by God to offer his son as a burnt offering. Jesus was a sacrifice too but he went willingly to the cross for our deliverance.
We formed our prayer circle at the altar to pray for the needs of the community, our church, and our country.
