Billy Ray Tanner, 71, of Troy died 6:40 p.m. April 16, 2013, at his home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Obion. The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home 5-8 p.m. Friday.
He was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Hornbeak, son of the late Gleen and Eva (Goodman) Tanner. He married the former Sara Padgett Jan. 10, 1964. She survives. He had retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Union City after 23 years of service and had also worked at the former Salant & Salant for 21 years. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ.
He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Tim Page of Murfreesboro and Darla and John Beasley of Gleason; two sisters, Glynell McDaniel of Troy and Ernestine King of Union City; three granddaughters, Nicole Page and Leah Page, both of Murfreesboro, and Katelyn Dick of Gleason; and two step-granddaughters, Chandler Beasley and Chelsea Beasley, both of Gleason.
