Reed Walton Sr., 92 of Trimble died April 14, 2013, at his residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the  Rev. Rick Isbell and Dr. Bill Oakley. Interment will follow in Pierce Cemetery in Trimble. Visitation will be this evening from 5-9 at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services at the church.
Pallbearers will be Eddie West, Michael Walton, Brad Walton, Tim Williams, Jay Williams, Tim Partin, Marvin Dunlap and Mike Hampton.
He was born June 23, 1920, in Newbern, son of the late Ernest and Maud (Frazier) Walton. He was the retired gas/water supervisor of the City of Trimble; a World War II U.S. Army Veteran; a member of Trimble First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years; and a member of the America Legion and Trimble Lions Club.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Reed Walton Jr. and Denise Walton of Humboldt; his daughter, Charlotte (Walton) Hampton of Union City; three brothers, Wes Walton of Obion, Wilbur Walton of Newbern and Joe Walton of Pawley’s Island, S.C.; his sister, Rebecca Butler of Buena Vista; and four grandchildren and the spouse of one of them, Will and Sarah Hampton of Memphis and Zac Walton, Samantha Walton and Sydnee Walton, all of Humboldt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Crouson) Walton; his brother, Ernest “Preacher” Walton; and three sisters, Elizabeth Wilson, Louise Walton and Sue Williams.
