Junior Auxiliary of Obion County is currently accepting applications from area seniors so they may further their education.
“It is the mission of the Junior Auxiliary of Obion County Scholarship Committee to seek and distribute scholarship awards on behalf of the Junior Auxiliary Chapter to further the education of those students residing in Obion County. It is further the mission to distribute the funds based on certain criteria established prior to the application and not solely on academic performance.
“The scholarship committee feels the desire of the student to further his/her education is of the utmost importance and the student’s past civic and cultural activities/experience will be examined. Using these criteria the goals of the scholarship program can be successfully attained,” a spokesman said in a press release.
Applications are available at each of the three area high schools and must be returned to the school guidance counselors no later than April 26 or be sent to Tina Adams, c/o Junior Auxiliary of Obion County, P.O. Box 853, Union City, TN 38281-0853 with a postmark no later than April 26.
Recipients will be named in May.
“It is our honor to assist Obion County students financially in their quest for higher education,” the spokesman said.
