Our pastor, Bro. Tony Michael, used Matthew 4:18-22 for his April 7 sermon on “Fishers Of Men.” In his four-point sermon he invited us all to go fishing for men. He told us we need to have a clear message, know what we believe, be able to relate our message to our audience and then get busy.

Bro. Tony and Judy celebrated his April 7 birthday by going to see the Duck Dynasty clan in Mayfield, Ky. The money raised from the ticket sells for this event went to help build a Pathways Girls’ Home.

Robert and Linda Summers and Sue Hopkins went to East Kentucky to visit their brother over the weekend.

Our church will have a yard sale April 20 at the church parsonage. All donations are welcome and appreciated. You may give your items to any member of the church or bring them very early to the sale. All money raised will go to our Operation Christmas Child project in November.

At the recent annual Ore Springs/Como Volunteer Fire Dept. meeting we learned that we would be getting a fire truck with the help of a grant. The department will be borrowing seven percent of the grant to pay our part of the cost of the truck. Our firefighter of the year was Issac Smith. Steve Legens was given a plaque for his 25 years of dedicated service to the fire department.

Santa’s Helpers in Dresden is in need of volunteers who can work three days a week from noon to 4 p.m. Help is needed with the front of the store, food, paperwork and helping sort clothes. Any amount of help will be appreciated. This would make a great mission project and you don’t have to travel miles or be away from home at night to work on this.

Joseph Mann is doing a scrap metal drive fundraiser to help raise money for a new roof on the Santa’s Helpers building. If you have scrap metal that you would like to donate, call Joe at 364-5264 and leave a message.
