Terrell’s goal
all Rebels need

Alex Terrell took a feed from Jackson Smith and scored the only goal of the match to lift Obion Central to a 1-0 victory over South Fulton in prep soccer Tuesday night in Troy.
The Rebels remained unbeaten with the shutout win, now 5-0.
Casey Tackett and Alberto Acevedo combined for four saves in net for OC.
SF dropped to 2-3.
Central’s next match is Thursday at home vs. Milan, while South Fulton plays host to Union City today.

Junior Twisters
win on shootout

Winning a shootout 3-2, the Union City Middle School Golden Tornado soccer team remained perfect on the season by beating Paris Inman 5-4 in overtime to improve their record to 5-0.
Inman scored twice in the first half, but then Jack Guess scored a couple of goals for Union City in the second half to tie the match.
The two squads then played 10 minutes of scoreless overtime before going to the shootout.
In the shootout, UC got goals from Santiago Ruiz, Alex Amezquita and Tucker Kennedy.
Braxton Waddell was in goal for the junior Twisters in the second half.
UC will travel to Three Oaks on Thursday and return home Friday to play Dyersburg at 4:30 in what will be a Twister-Trojan doubleheader with the high school.

Trenton hands UC
another shutout

Outshot 30-3, Union City remained on the lookout for its first-ever high school soccer triumph with a 4-0 loss to Trenton Tuesday.
The Tornado program — in its first year of existence — will again seek its first victory this evening in a match at South Fulton.
Saul Tellez was singled out by head coach John Graham for good defensive play in UC’s Tuesday setback vs. Peabody.
Abram Carroll recorded 12 saves in goal.

Caleb Turner event
at SF, Fulton fields

South Fulton and Fulton City will co-host the Caleb Turner Classic baseball three-day event later this week.
Eight teams will participate, and games will be played at the SF field on the high school campus and at Lohaus Field across town.
Play begins Thursday at the Red Devil field with the Twin Cities clubs facing off at 4, followed by Gleason vs. Fulton at 6 and Gleason vs. Bradford at 8.
Friday’s games at SF begin with the Redmen playing Hickman County at 4, Paducah Tilghman meeting Bradford at 6 and then HC taking on Bradford at 8. At Lohaus Field, Fulton will play Lake County at 5 and Ballard Memorial will meet Gleason at 7.
The event concludes Saturday with four games at SF as Lake County will play Hickman County at 10 a.m., the Falcons will then take on BM at noon, Tilghman will face Ballard at 2 and South Fulton will close the 12-game event against Tilghman at 4.
