G’field top Pats to extend run

The long layoff for spring break did not slow down the Greenfield tennis team on Monday.
The Lady Yellowjackets stayed undefeated on the season with 6-1 match win over Henry County. The win gives the Lady ’Jackets a 5-0 record for the season and marks their 54th consecutive regular season win.
Emily Allen defeated Layla Hargrove 8-1 in a match between the top two singles players for each team. Greenfield’s No. 2 Kendal Cook beat the No. 2 for HC, Madi Whitfield 8-0 and Kalee Kesterson defeated Brooke McCord 8-2 in the No. 3 match.
Callie Croom took the No. 4 match from Olivia Maupin 8-3, and Lauren Rush lost 8-4 to Krista Klingenburg to round out the singles.
The team of Allen and Croom beat the team of Hargrove and Whitfield 8-3 in doubles, while the duo of Cook and Kesterson won 8-3 over Maupin and Klingenburg.
