The BoatHouse opens in Samburg Posted: Tuesday, April 9, 2013 12:00 am By: Kevin Bowden, Business Editor By KEVIN BOWDEN Business Editor Ron and SuAnna Dyer have opened the BoatHouse restaurant in the former location of The Pier restaurant in Samburg. The restaurant is located at 600 East Lakeview Drive and was most recently operated as Baja Fresh Mex Grill. The Dyers have reopened the restaurant as the BoatHouse and have brought back the menu and atmosphere that originally built the restaurant’s status as a popular Samburg dining destination. The dining room area features Reelfoot Lake decor, while diners can enjoy spectacular views of the lake through the back windows of the restaurant. The breakfast menu at the BoatHouse includes pork loin, country ham, sausage, bacon, omelets, pancakes and steak and egg plates. Breakfast is served from 6:30-10:30 daily. Lunch begins at 10:30 and transitions into dinner in the evenings. The BoatHouse has a children’s menu, as well as a variety of appetizers, including crawdaddy tails, pickle spears, fried mushrooms and buffalo strips. The extensive menu includes soups and salads, sandwiches and a variety of desserts. The restaurant opened for business last week and already the owners say they have been pleased with the response from customers. The BoatHouse is open from 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m. seven days a week. The restaurant’s main menu features catfish fillet plates, country ham, chicken tenderloin, grilled chicken breast, ribeye and flat iron steaks and a side order menu that includes French fries, onion rings, white and green beans, cole slaw, hushpuppies, baked potatoes and sweet potatoes and grilled vegetables. Dyer is the son of Randy and Jan Dyer, who own and operate the Eagle Nest Resort just down the street from The BoatHouse. The BoatHouse now gives Samburg its only dine-in restaurant. A wood deck at the back of the BoatHouse is open during the summer and offers beautiful views of the lake. The restaurant is within walking distance of most of Samburg’s lakeshore resorts and next to The BoatHouse is Spicer Park.
