Joe Wade

Joe G. Wade, 77, of Martin, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at his residence.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Home Baptist Church. Martin with Rev. Randy Potts officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery with Murphy Funeral Home of Martin in charge of the arrangements.

Quentin Brown, Douglas Brown, Amy Olds, Sara Olds, Kendrick Hardin, Katie Hardin, Ben Powers, Claire Capps, Emma Capps and Matthew Hardin served as pallbearers.

Wade was born Nov. 9. 1935 in Weakley County, son of the late Jimmy and Lulu Key Wade. He was retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Union City and a member of New Home Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anne Bigham Wade of Martin; two sons, Scotty Joe Wade of Danville, Va. And Jimmy (Michelle) Brown of Martin; four daughters, Debbie Gayle (Mike) Travis, Vickie (Scotty) Olds and Amanda (Chris) Capps, all of Martin and Lori (Michael) Hardin of Mason Hall; and 10 grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Wade and Dalton Wade; and one sister, Elwanda McMinn.
