The Messenger, April 3, 2013 Ruth Jean Crews, 81, of South Fulton died March 28, 2013, at Van Ayer Manor in Martin. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of arrangements. She was a member of South Fulton Baptist Church and had been a packer for Hall Printing Co. in Dresden. She had lived in this area most of her life. She is survived by two daughters, Chelsa Fields of South Fulton and Diane Duncan of Bowling Green, Ky.; her son, Bennie Crews Jr. of Yorkville; five grandchildren, Shanda King of Arkansas and Jeffrey Crews, Samantha Crews, Brandon Crews and Kaitlyn Crews, all of Yorkville; her great-granddaughter, Hallie Thompson of Arkansas; three brothers, Johnny Lucy and Charles Shepherd, both of South Fulton, and James “Jimmy” Lucy of Fulton; and two sisters, Frances Bailey of Humboldt and Estelle Underwood of Union City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Crews; her parents, James F. and Hettie (Martin) Lucy; her stepmother, Nela Lucy; her son, Billy Crews; four sisters, Lois Watson, Irene Poole, Monette Harding and Carolyn Malray; and four brothers, Fred Lucy, Robert Lucy, Thomas Shepherd and Winston Lucy.
