READER LEADERS — Third-graders in Reneigh Rogers’ class at Gleason School recently celebrated their accomplishment of reaching 1,0000 Accelerated Reader points as a class. Accelerated Reader is a computer-based reading program that focuses on comprehension of text. Students can earn points for passing tests on the library books they read. At Gleason School, these points may be used to participate in the Accelerated Reader competition, where students are rewarded with trophies for their accomplishments at a year-end reading celebration. Mrs. Rogers’ students surpassed their class goal of 1,000 Accelerated Reader points before spring break. Published in The WCP 4.2.13
