Pinnacle Pain Manage-ment in Union City is now certified by the State of Tennessee and qualified to provide an expanded range of comprehensive pain management services that are not provided elsewhere in northwest Tennessee, including peripheral nerve blocks, diagnostic selective nerve root blocks and epidural steroid blocks, facet injections and myofascial trigger point treatment.
Pinnacle Pain Manage-ment provides treatment for all types of musculoskeletal, spinal and nerve related pain. The clinic opened in October 2011 with the goal of providing a resource for patients with acute or chronic pain.
Many patients suffer from intractable pain that requires a long term approach to pain management. This can be caused by a variety of ailments, including cancer, back surgery, degenerative arthritis, herniated discs, headaches or other conditions.
“Pinnacle takes a responsible team approach to care,” said medical director Dr. Henry Babenco. “We work directly with patients and their primary care physicians or other specialists to develop a responsible pain management plan that offers the best potential for relief while minimizing the potential risk for substance abuse. Our goal is to help patients return to their highest potential of health and function.”
Pinnacle is the only pain management clinic in the greater northwest region of Tennessee with an anesthesiologist as the center’s medical director, allowing more advanced treatments on-site such as epidural injections and nerve blocks.
Joining Dr. Babenco on staff at Pinnacle is Tennessee board certified physician’s assistant, Sue Dierkes-PA-C; Allison Vallee, RN; x-ray technician, Carrie Scronce; and office manager, Amanda Norton.
The clinic offers the most sophisticated medical diagnostic testing and treatments and prefers to work with the patient’s primary care physician and other specialists, including massage therapists, physical therapists and doctors specializing in spinal rehabilitation to foster a state of health and well-being.
Pinnacle Pain Manage-ment is located at 700 Sherrill St., Ste. B, in offices located behind E.W. James on Reelfoot Avenue. The clinic is seeing new patients and is open Mondays–Thursdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
