Support meetings set Posted: Tuesday, April 2, 2013 5:00 pm A caregiver support group meeting is being planned for April 9 at the Obion County Senior Center at 10 a.m. Similar sessions are being held throughout this area the week of April 8-12 and are hosted by the National Family Caregiver Support Program, working with the Area Agency on Aging and Disability. Those interested may attend any or all sessions. Other such meetings are planned for Monday at Dyer County Senior Center in Dyersburg at 1 p.m., April 9 at the Weakley County Senior Center in Dresden at 1 p.m., April 10 at the Gibson County Senior Center in Bradford at 1 p.m., April 11 at the Crockett County Senior Center at 1 p.m. and April 12 at the Carroll County Senior Center in Huntington at 1 p.m. These are initial meetings for a caregiver support group. They are designed for people caring for their loved ones to meet other caregivers in the community, to share experiences and gain a personal support system. The meetings will also have tips to help with the burdens of care giving. If there is sufficient participation, sponsors hope to continue this outreach service monthly.
