Time to get organized and give to Goodwill

For most people, the arrival of spring means it’s time to clean.
One of the biggest challenges of spring cleaning is getting rid of the clutter you don’t need.
A good rule of thumb is if you haven’t worn it, used it or played with it in a year, it is time to donate it to Goodwill.
Goodwill relies on donations of clothing and other household items to support its mission of providing employment and training opportunities to people who have trouble finding and keeping jobs.
“This year, we have already assisted a record number of people. Because of this, we need your donations now more than ever,” a spokesman said.
Ninety-eight percent of the revenue comes from the sale of donated items. So, when residents donate books or blouses they no longer want, they are helping people in their community.
“Don’t forget, your donations are 100 percent tax deductible, so make sure you keep your donation receipt for your tax records/”
There are more than 70 Donation Express Centers located across Middle and West Tennessee. To find one, visit www.giveit2goodwill.org.
