‘Dot’ Argo

Dorothy “Dot” Argo, 87, died at her residence in Hickman, Ky., on June 23, 2012.
Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m. today at First Church of God, with the Revs. Gary Poe and Henry Callison officiating. Burial was to follow in the Hickman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Argo was a retired funeral directors’ assistant for Strong Funeral Home and a member of the First Church of God, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and had served as a board member on the Hickman Chamber of Commerce and the Hickman Country Club.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James T. “Jimmy” and Karen Argo of South Fulton; her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Tommy Stayton of Hickman; three sisters, Velva “Baby Doll” Yarbro of Hickman, Juanita Reichard of West Memphis, Ark., and Judy Parker Young of Memphis; eight grandchildren, Shari Wilkins, Barry Tarver, Sarah Rice, Chad Argo, Kim Kirby, Missy Hurst, Heath Carlton and Brad Carlton; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Nannie Trusty; her husband, James P. Argo; her daughter, Jenny Lou Tarver and her sister, Linda Wiseman.
