An Obion man was arrested after an accident on Saturday morning.
The Union City Police Department received an anonymous call about 1:36 a.m. regarding a car in the ditch in front of Pockets convenience store in Union City.
When the officer arrived, an Obion County Sheriff’s Department deputy was already on the scene and had Kenneth Bradley Gurien, 41, of 226 Eighth St., in the back of his patrol vehicle.
A witness told police she heard the crash as she was pulling into Pockets and saw the suspect get out of his vehicle and get into the back seat of another. She told the sheriff’s deputy this as well and he put Gurien in the back of the patrol vehicle before the officer’s arrival.
According to the report, Gurien had a strong odor of alcohol, told police he  was “obviously too drunk to drive,” refused sobriety field tests and breath test and would not sign the implied consent form.
He was charged with driving under the influence third offense and violation of the implied consent law.
