First State welcomes Jerod Howell to the team

MARTIN – First State welcomes Jerod Howell as the website business manager.  Howell will be located in the First State office in  Martin located at 106 University Street.  First State offers banking, finance, insurance, and investments through this office.  As a member of First State, Howell will be responsible for the development and management of the website. Howell graduated from Jackson State with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science.  He went on to UT-Martin and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with an emphasis in operations management.  While attending school, Howell worked for Weakley County Schools as a network administrator and computer technician.  After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree, he began working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber as a network systems analyst.  He has been involved with a computer business where he has responsibilities ranging from computer sales and repair to website design and online marketing.  “I am very pleased to have Jerod join the First State team.  We wish to enhance and grow our ability to effectively serve our customers and community through online channels,” said director of marketing, Mitsie Witherspoon.  “He has the background and experience to support the technical and business aspects of this challenge. Uniquely, he also has the experience of managing and serving through his own business, so he understands the importance of serving and effectively communicating to customers.  I look forward to providing some improved and new online experiences for our customers and communities under Jerod’s leadership.”
