Greenfield High School holds Alumni banquet

The Greenfield High School Alumni Association held their 20th annual banquet on May 29.
The night started off with a warm welcome from Jake Biggs, a member of the Class of 1993 and the 2009-2010 Alumni Association President. The delicious meal was catered by Wimpy’s Corner of Greenfield, owned and operated by Mitch Greub and his wife Vickie Cochran Greub who is a member of the Class of 1987.
The invocation was lead by Mike Riggs, school principal. The 2009-2010 officers and their spouses were introduced. The President was Jake Biggs, member of the Class of 1993 and his wife, Jennifer Diviney Biggs, Class of 1995. The Vice-President was Jeff Floyd, member of the Class of 1991 and his wife, Marci Cantrell Floyd, Class of 1994. The Secretary was Michelle Medling, member of the Class of 2003. The Treasurer was John Liggett, member of the Class of 1994 and his wife, Tori Stout Liggett, Class of 1999. The Reporter was Beth Raney Medling, member of the Class of 1981 and her husband, Craig, Class of 1979.
The Board of Directors was also introduced. The board consisted of: David Scarbrough – class of 1987, Randy Huffstetler – Class of 1990, Trent Scates – Class of 1988, Jan Coats Johnson – Class of 1973, Tori Stout Liggett – Class of 1999, Jamie Grooms Doster – Class of 1998, J. Randy Huffstetler – Class of 1962, Amy Stafford Vaughan – Class of 1974 and Tommy Akin – Class of 1963. 
The Scholarship recipients were announced. Receiving the “Mossie Young Orr Memorial Scholarship” was Mallory Robinson. Receiving the “Joe and Anita Herndon Memorial Scholarship” was Tyler Dunning.
The special guest for the evening was Anthony McAlister, a member of the Class of 1970. He made an impressive talk for the guests. 
New officers for 2008-2009 were elected. These consisting of: President – Jeff Floyd, Vice President Elect – Ray Ann Featherston Dudley, Class of 1981, Secretary – Michelle Medling, Treasurer – John Liggett, and Reporter – Beth Raney Medling. The Board of Directors was also elected. These included Jan Coats Johnson, J. Randy Huffstetler, Tori Stout Liggett, Jamie Grooms Doster, Tommy Akin, Trent Scates, Randy E. Huffstetler and Jake Biggs.
In keeping with tradition the night was concluded with all the past cheerleaders leading the singing of the Alma Mater.
