Ryanna Potts has recently been nominated by her HOSA teacher at Polk County High School for the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. She is the daughter of Ryan and Lois Potts of Benton, formerly of Greenfield, and the granddaughter of Reba Coleman and Danny Cobb, both of Greenfield, and James Potts of Mayfield, Ky.
This program is reserved for only the highest achieving students in the United States who exhibit exceptional leadership potential for a career in medicine. The NYLF/MED is a 10-day exploration of the medical field where students will view live surgeries and have the opportunity to ask the surgeon and operating room staff questions while the procedure takes place. It is also the nation’s foremost program in pre-medical education for high school students and an invaluable head start on a career path. Held in eight cities across the United States, the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine (NYLF/MED) utilizes hands on, interactive curriculum that includes clinical and research visits.
Potts, who plans to enter college as a Physical Therapy major, has also recently been inducted into the National Honor Society. In addition to the National Honor Society, She serves in several other clubs including BETA, HOSA, Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, History and PEP Clubs.
