Obion County native promoted to VP with Mississippi company Posted: Monday, December 28, 2009 10:37 am The Messenger 12.28.09 Obion County native Elvest Cook of Oxford, Miss., has been promoted to vice president of distribution/logistics for Blauer Manufacturing Co. Inc. He is a 1981 graduate of Obion County Central High School. Cook will continue to be located at SWM in Oxford but will assume an expanded role in the overall transportation, warehousing, distribution and logistics for all Blauer facilities, according to Blauer Manufacturing President Michael Blauer. “Elvest is a true American success story, having started his career directly out of high school working in an apparel manufacturing cutting room,” Blauer said. “With his inquisitive mind, genuine down-home personality and hard work, Elvest quickly made his way up the corporate ladder, becoming manager of cutting and then plant manager. “Nine years ago, Blauer hired Elvest to manage the factory at SWM (Oxford)/RS (Charleston, Miss.), where he has done an outstanding job.
