Mandy Mansfield receives scholarship

wcp The Educational & Memorial Foundation of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) recently awarded scholarships to eight West Tennessee area residents for the 2008-09 academic year. The recipients are Freed-Hardeman University students Mandy N. Mansfield of Dresden, Madeline C. Shelby of Henderson and Stacy S. Maharrey of Jackson; Martin Methodist College student Fidelina L. Diaz of Bells; Middle Tennessee State University student Allie J. Threet of Parsons; Union University student Libby D. Ford of Jackson; and The University of Tennessee-Knoxville students Kyle J. Phillips of Parsons and Mary E. Haynes of Tiptonville. A total of $150,000 in scholarships was awarded to students attending colleges or universities throughout Tennessee by TSCPA this year. The 140 recipients were chosen from 188 applicants. In order to qualify for a TSCPA scholarship, candidates must complete introductory courses in accounting and/or be students majoring in accounting. Scholarship recipients were selected on the basis of academic achievement, professor recommendation, leadership skills, financial need and previous receipt of a TSCPA scholarship.
