Carlos B. Woods, 86, of Tiptonville died Jan. 15, 2008, at his home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home’s Tiptonville chapel, with burial following in Crockett’s Chapel Cemetery.
The Rev. Marita Burkeen will officiate and pallbearers will be Dr. Ron Corum, Jerry Simmons, Eddie Cain, Glenn Rogers, Todd Rogers and Jerry Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Hershel Runions, Jimmy King, Donnie Reed and John Bass.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5:30-8 this evening.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater and receiving the Purple Heart. He was a retired employee of Tennessee State Parks and an active member of Crockett’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
He had been married to Mary Virginia Woods for 66 years.
Survivors also include two daughters, Martha Jean Woods and Sarah Woods, both of Tiptonville; and his granddaughter, Autumn Leigh Woods.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Bobby Woods.
