CLARKSVILLE (AP) — Hailey Laine Brown of Franklin, formerly of South Fulton, has been crowned the new Miss Tennessee USA 2008 and will go on to compete in the Miss USA pageant.
First runner-up in the Miss Tennessee USA pageant was Lindsey Halliburton, Miss River Queen USA. Second runner-up was Catherine Werne, Miss Southern Tennessee USA.
They were among 50 women who competed for Miss Tennessee Saturday.
Crowned on Saturday as Miss Tennessee Teen USA was 16-year-old Siegel High School student Natalie Phillips of Murfreesboro. Shelby Thompson, Miss Franklin Teen USA, was first runner up. Leah Beth Bolton, Miss Southern Tennessee Teen USA, was second runner-up.
Phillips will go on to compete in the Miss Teen USA pageant.
Miss Brown is the daughter of David and Lisa Thompson of Dresden and Mike and Julia Brown of Lone Oak. She is the granddaughter of Marion and Carolyn Butler; Martha Brown and the late Charles Brown, all of South Fulton.
She is a 2000 graduate of South Fulton High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she was Miss UTM 2003.
