ROAD WORK — Employees with Ford Construction worked early this morning at First and Jackson streets as they prepared to pave Jackson Street from Home Street to Fifth Street. Union City public works director Jason Moss said it is a Tennessee Department of Transportation project which is being managed by the City of Union City and being paid with a grant. The three-year project has included the replacement of sewer lines and installation of ADA compliant wheelchair ramps on the east end of Jackson Street. Last week, workers milled the remainder of Jackson as they prepared the roadway for new asphalt. In total, it will cost around $500,000.
