ONE ON ONE — James Pierce (left) of South Fulton visited with Obion County Sheriff Karl Jackson at the start of Thursday night’s kickoff class for the first-ever Citizens Sheriff’s Academy, a unique educational endeavor launched by the Obion County Sheriff’s Office. The information-oriented program will run for eight weeks, giving citizens from throughout the community a better understanding of sheriff’s office functions, how policies are developed, the decision-making process and what an officer experiences on a day-to-day basis. The inaugural class includes 26 Obion County residents who applied to attend.
