Arton was born in Hornbeak April 12, 1931, son of Doyle and Gladys Brewer. He was married to his sweetheart, Mary Ann Allen, for 49 years until her passing in 2004. Arton was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in the meat packing industry for nearly 50 years.…

Mrs. Maurine Bell Woodruff, 89, of Martin, died Monday, June 27, 2016 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home.

Services will be Saturday at St. James Baptist Church in Obion, beginning with visitation at noon. A memorial service will follow.

Susie Jane Campbell King, 70, of Obion died 2:05 p.m. June 25, 2016, at her home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at South Fulton Baptist Church on Highway 45. Interment will follow in Clinton (Ky.) Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Rawls Funeral Home in South Fulton is in charge of arrangements.
