Judy Powell

Mrs. Judy Cagle Powell, age 82, of Hickman, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Obion County Nursing & Rehab near in Union City.

She was born July 11, 1944, in Hickman, Kentucky, to the late James “Friday” Cagle and Marie Simmons Cagle.

Judy was a longtime member of West Hickman Baptist Church. She proudly served her community as Mayor of Hickman for two terms and as a City Commissioner for one term. She also worked as a secretary for Carborundum in Hickman, Kentucky.

She is survived by her nephews, Jim (Debbie) Clack of Leitchfield, Kentucky, Jeff (Becky) Clack of Alvaton, Kentucky, and Tommy (Renee) Ramsey of Murray, Kentucky; two nieces, Carol (Joey) Parker of Hickman, Kentucky, and Lisa (Kevin) McClure of Martin, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Martha Ramsey of Hickman, Kentucky; stepson, Johnathan (Tiffany) Powell of Indianapolis, Indiana; stepdaughters, Rosemary Reese of Union City, Tennessee, and Diana Powell; and step-grandchildren, Sterling, Aiden, Reid and Virginia Powell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Powell. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Clack; and one brother, William “Bill” Ramsey.

Judy will be remembered for her dedication to her community, her service to others, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Judy Cagle Powell will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman, with Bro. Jason Sipes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman from 9 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service.
