David Bugg Sr.
David Wayne Bugg Sr., 62, of Hornbeak passed away on Aug. 28, 2026.
Born in Memphis on Oct. 25, 1963, David was a longtime resident of the Reelfoot Lake area, where he enjoyed the natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle that remained important to him throughout his life.
David was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Bugg.
He is survived by his parents, Daniel Ray Bugg Sr. and Peggy Ann Bugg; his sister, Cynthia Renee Baldwin; his brother, Daniel Ray Bugg Jr.; his son, David Wayne Bugg Jr.; grandson Fenix, child of Elizabeth Bugg; and grandchildren Trystan, Nora, Linden and Eisley Bugg, children of David Wayne Bugg Jr.
An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed hunting and fishing and maintained a lifelong interest in nature and history. He was also a dedicated craftsman who spent many years creating and working with his hands through woodworking and other traditional crafts. Reelfoot Lake held a special place in his life and was where he felt most at home.
He was known for sharing stories, pursuing his many interests and extending help to others when he was able.
In accordance with his wishes, David was cremated. No formal memorial service will be held. His ashes will be scattered across Reelfoot Lake, a place he loved and chose as his final resting place.
David’s life was marked by a love of the outdoors, craftsmanship and the natural beauty of Reelfoot Lake. Those who knew him will remember him in their own way.
