Hilda Ash
Hilda Lee Ash, 80, of Union City passed away 3:41 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home 9 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Hilda was born April 18, 1946, in Obion County, daughter of the late Leroy and Geneva (Beard) Forrester. She married Cloyd Dee Ash Nov. 19, 1971. He preceded her in death April 17, 2026. Hilda had been employed at the former Union City Towel and as cafeteria worker at Union City Elementary School. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Obion County Senior Citizens Center and camping. Hilda was a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Tracy Denton of Union City; two stepdaughters, Linda Gibbons of Georgia and Lisa Sanderson of Memphis; one sister, Charlotte Forrester of the Shawtown community; two brothers, Larry Forrester and wife, Cynthia, of the Shawtown community and Dennis Forrester and wife, Nell, of Winchester, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Stacey Ash; one son, Darren Cates; and three brothers, Walter Ray Forrester, Franklin Forrester and Eddie Forrester.
