Ruth Christian

Ruth Jean Christian, 91, of Union City passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at her home.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Ruth was born and grew up in Mecosta, Mich., daughter of the late John and Helen (McRay) Smith. She worked in Detroit as an adult and met and fell in love with the love of her life of 64 years, Richard “Honey” Christian, whom she married on Nov. 29, 1955. He preceded her in death Oct. 28, 2020. Ruth and Richard purchased a 120 acre farm in Union Grove, Wis., where they raised their three children. Ruth retired at the age of 43 years young and she and Richard shared their passion for travel and fishing as far north as Alaska, as far south as Corpus Christi, Texas, and as far west as Washington State. She and Richard moved to Union City in September 2019 to live with family.
Ruth put her time into sewing and knitting her crafts and selling them on Highway 22 during the arts & crafts festival every October. She loved meeting and talking with the people who stopped by to shop. Ruth loved her Lord & Savior, her Faith Lutheran Church family, and family and friends. She lived a beautiful life and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Fuchs (Hans) of Union City; her son, Dean Christian (Barbara) of Troy; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Christian; three brothers; and two sisters.
