Jeff Gabbert
Mr. Jeffery “Jeff” Scott Gabbert, 63, of South Fulton passed at his home Tuesday, March 17, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family and his hospice angel, Jessica, of Baptist Hospice.
Jeff spent his years in the service of others working as a social worker in many aspects of healthcare, probation and parole then in healthcare administration. Jeff also served as city manager of South Fulton for one year.
Jeff discovered he had cancer immediately after his return from volunteering for a month in war torn Ukraine. When traditional cancer treatment was no longer an option, Baptist Hospice stepped in and took exceptional care of him. The family wishes to express extreme gratitude to the entire Baptist Hospice team, Brianne Williams and J.P. Amberg.
Jeff leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Jackie; son, Maxton David Gabbert of Seattle, Wash.; daughter, Emily (Jackson) McEwen and grandson, Jameson of Crestview, Fla.; and daughter, Karleigh Morgan of South Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Corwin Gabbert; mom, Doris Gabbert; and brother, Michael Gabbert.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Anyone wishing to honor Jeff can make a donation to the Mother for Ukraine, a non profit organization that supports the International Volunteer Center in Lviv, Ukraine, in their mission to provide relief to those affected by the war.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
