‘SOUP’ER DAY SET
‘SOUP’ER DAY SET — Tuesday, Jan. 20, will be a “souper” day at the Obion County Public Library as the Friends group — including (from left) Wanda Sanders, Judi Pitts, Wanda Gray, Barbara Dickerson, Pat Capps and library director Carolina Conner — offers soup meals for lunch. The menu includes one soup choice, a drink and a homemade dessert for $10. Refills will be $2 each. Some of the soup choices include Italian sausage, Zuppa Toscana, ham and beans, white bean chicken chili, turnip green soup, and broccoli and cheese soup. Sampler cups and more baked goods will be available for an additional price and handsewn aprons made by Phillis Little will be offered for sale. The soup may be eaten at the library or taken to-go. Local residents and businesses wishing to purchase to-go orders for pick up may do so by calling 731-885-7000 beginning at 11 a.m., when the event starts. Soup will be served until 2 p.m. or until all the soup is gone, with a spokesman noting once the pot is empty that soup is gone, so it’s best to arrive early. All proceeds will be used for library programs.
