Bud Burkett
Mr. Billy “Bud” Burkett, 95, a resident of Union City, died Nov. 24, 2025 at his residence.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Rev. Ben Lownsdale will be officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Burkett was born on June 28, 1930, in Wynnburg to the late Will J. Burkett and Ludie Mae (Grooms) Russell. He was an Owner of the former Furniture Barn in Union City. On April 13, 1952, he married Billie (Keene) Burkett. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Union City.
The family requests memorials be sent to: Fellowship of Christian Athletes or First Baptist Church in Union City.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Billie Burkett; two sons, Brad (Adelia) Burkett and Brian Burkett; daughter, Beth (Barry) Duncan, all of Union City; three grandchildren, Betsy (Chris) Lyons of Nashville, Brenna Duncan (Frank Guidice) of Union City and David (Christye) Moseley of Bluffton, S.C.; five great-grandchildren, Lanigan Lyons, Calder Lyons, Moss Guidice, Andrew Moseley and Parker Moseley; brother, Andy Russell of Brentwood; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Moorman.
