Linda Mathenia
Linda Lyon Mathenia, 81, of Union City passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at The Waters of Union City.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Sunday at East View Cemetery. Jeff Kenee officiated.
Visitation was at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from noon until 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers were family members.
Linda was born Feb. 19, 1944, in Pascagoula, Miss., daughter of the late Leonard Greene and Laura Elizabeth (Nail) Lyon. She had been employed at the former VF Factory Outlet in Union City and was a member of Exchange Street Church of Christ. Linda enjoyed reading, working word puzzles, cross stitching and shopping.
She is survived by one son, Ricky Mathenia and wife, Vonda, of Finger; one sister, Louise Mosier and husband, Paul, of Troy; two granddaughters, Madison Mathenia Wilkins and husband, Jared, and McKenzie Hurst and husband, Ty, all of Knoxville; one great-granddaughter, Piper Ray Hurst of Knoxville; and two sisters-in-laws, Nadine Lyon of Hornbeak and Linda Lyon Johnson of Clarksville.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Lyon and Lamar Lyon.
