Cindy Hoffman
Cynthia “Cindy” Diane Hoffman, a former resident of Union City, left this world on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the age of 66, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, N.C.
A celebration of life will be held at New Hope Bible Church, located at 768 TN-22, Union City. Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Services will begin at 2 p.m., with Rev. Darrell Hoffman officiating. A special Nurses Honor Guard Ceremony will be held during this time.
Cindy was born on Sept. 29, 1958, to the late Bobby and Margaret Hoffman of Union City. She was a 1976 graduate of Obion County Central High School and a 1984 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin.
She spent over 40 years in the medical field as a registered nurse. Her career included service at Obion County General Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. (where she worked in trauma), and concluded at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, N.C. Cindy was a proud and dedicated nurse who committed her life to the care and comfort of others.
She is survived by her brother, Mike (Belinda) Hoffman of Protemus; her nephews, Mason Hoffman and Cheston Hoffman, both of Protemus; her cousin, Kathy Ransom of Union City; her aunt, Gloria Ransom of the Clayton community; her aunt, Pam (Ray) Tolley of Samburg; her uncle, Darrell (Carla) Hoffman of the Dixie community; and her aunt, Becky Hoffman of the Clayton community. She is also survived by a number of cousins.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her uncles, Donald Ray Ransom, J.A. Ransom and Charlie Hoffman; her aunt, Doris Ransom; and her cousins, Daphie Sellers and LeAnn Bracewell.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the medical staff and doctors at ECU Health Medical Center for the compassionate care provided to Cindy in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to West Tennessee Nurses Honor Guard or the American Heart Association.
