Sherie Garrigan

Sherie Elaine Garrigan, 77, of Union City went peacefully to be with the Lord on June 15, 2025, at 10:11a.m. at The Waters of Union City surrounded by her family.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1947, in Memphis to Tom and Martha Hauser. She attended Messick High School in Memphis, where she was a cheerleader, member of the science club and enjoyed being active in home economics. She attended Memphis State University for a short time and studied accounting before meeting and falling in love with her husband, H.E. Garrigan III.
Sherie and H.E. were married on March 25, 1967, and celebrated their 58 th wedding anniversary this year. H.E. was a farmer so in her younger years, when Sherie wasn’t driving a tractor, she was a local Girl Scout Brownie Leader, enjoyed playing tennis, going to the lake and cross-stitching. As she got older, she spent most of her time watching her children’s sporting events, painting, working puzzles and going antique shopping. However, Sherie’s life-long passions were working in her flower beds and garden, cooking and sharing recipes with others, and treasuring time spent with her family. She always had a positive outlook on life and would say … “Believe in yourself and always look for the good in others.” She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and worked as a CPA at Thompson & McConnell Accounting Firm.
Sherie is survived by her husband, H.E. Garrigan III; her children, Laurie (Rusty) Griffin of Union City, Leslie (Jeff) Cooper of Oklahoma and Chad (Donna) Garrigan of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Coby (Dustin) Ray and Brandy Griffin, both of Union City, Taylor (Kade) Young, McKenzie (Zane) Gelphman, Austin (Makynna) Cooper, all of Oklahoma,  Savannah Garrigan and Hunter (Erica) White, both of South Carolina, and Heath (Taylor) White of North Carolina; her nine great-grandchildren, Logan, Ayden, Isaiah, Kamdyn, Crue, Nolan, Landon, Marshal, Finley and expecting No. 10 Baby Cooper in October. She is also survived by her brother, Tom (Sheila) Hauser of Texas, along with several nieces and nephews. Sherie was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Martha Hauser.
Sherie embodied the essence of grace, love and resilience. Her nurturing nature was a source of comfort and strength to all who were fortunate to know her. She dedicated her life to her family, creating a home filled with laughter and warmth. Her kitchen was always open and her favorite saying was … “It’s not what people see on the outside that matters … it’s what is on the inside that counts.” Her unconditional love and her faith in the Lord were her foundation for her family and her life. She will leave behind an everlasting impact and legacy of strength and devotion.
A “come and go” Celebration of Life visitation was held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 1-3 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home in Union City. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials or donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in her name.
