EASY DOES IT — Everett Giffin (right), 3, prepared to pet a “dinosaur,” while his 1-year-old brother, Henry, was more hesitant about meeting the prehistoric creature following a Prehistoric Day event hosted by the Obion County Public Library as part of its Summer Reading Program kickoff Saturday. Henry finally warmed up to the creature before heading over from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church’s activity building, where the program was held, to the library’s backyard, where live animals waited to be petted and fed. They are the children of Micayla and Derek Giffin of Union City. The library has many other events planned for this summer.
