James Moore

James Ronnie “Shorty” Moore, 77, a resident of Union City, died May 20, 2025 at his residence.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Pastor Seth Wilkerson will be officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Willtrout, Dean Butler, Caleb Scott, Kyle McDaniel, Josh McDaniel and Jacob Bridges. 
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Moore was born on Nov. 29, 1947, in Union City to the late Charlie and Catherine (Ballard) Moore. He worked as a Supervisor for Gurien Finishing and retired as a Truck Driver for Schwan’s. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Union City.
He is survived by one son, Jamie Moore and wife, Kim, of Lyles; four daughters, Carla McDaniel and husband, Greg, of Union City, Karen Setzer and husband, Larry, of Humboldt, Katie Hawkins and husband, Robbie, of Chattanooga and Laura Betts and husband, Barrett, of Union City; 11 grandchildren, Kyle McDaniel, Josh McDaniel, Kasey Bridges, Kris Moore, Shea Scott, Lacey Harper, Emily Willtrout, Brittany Butler, Dustin Setzer, Kaitlynn Pope and Kayden Lawrence; his brother, Reese Moore of North Augusta, S.C.; 12 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Karen Greer of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Melvin “Goob” Moore; a grandson, Bentley Betts; and a nephew, Jeffrey Moore.
