Knott steps down as South Fulton football coach
South Fulton High School football head coach Eric Knott has taken the position as defensive coordinator at Milan High School.
He informed The Messenger of his decision earlier this afternoon and has met with the Red Devil players.
Knott spent 12 years as theĀ SF head coach, posting a 60-66 overall record. In 2024, the Red Devils were 9-3 and beat Westwood in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs, the first playoff victory for the program since 2009.
At Milan, Knott will join one of the state’s most tradition-rich programs.
The Bulldogs have claimed four state championships and have finished runner-up seven times, including last year under head coach Wade Comer.
Milan hired Comer away from McKenzie, and 2024 was his first season with the Bulldogs. Milan posted a 13-2 record.
