Ray Nelle McMillon
Ray Nelle McMillon, 96, of Obion went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 13, 2025, at The Waters of Union City.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Walker and Rev. Dale Batchelor officiated. Burial followed in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation was held at the funeral home from noon until the hour of services Sunday.
Pallbearers were Bill Mitchell, Billy Wayne Long, Matthew Henderson, Daniel Mitchell, Kenneth Walker and Mike Bramlett
Honorary pallbearers were Blake Simmons, Max Grimes and Brent Grimes.
Ray Nelle was born April 16, 1928, in Obion County, daughter of the late Terence Stanfield and Lula Florence (Murray) Huey. She married Leroy James Sept. 16, 1945. He preceded her in death May 3, 1976. She married Robert McMillon in 1982. He preceded her in death in 1995. Ray Nelle was in banking for 36 years in Obion County having worked at Reelfoot Bank, Bank of Troy and retired as senior vice president of First Volunteer Bank. She was a member of Hornbeak Pentecostal Church and had served on numerous organizations.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Kim Bramlett (Mike) of Nashville, Kyle Simmons (Paula) of Hornbeak and Amy Pitts (Jimmy) of Hornbeak; six great-grandchildren, Kealey Bramlett of Nashville, Kenneth Walker (Ragan) of South Fulton, Alaina Henderson (Matthew) of Martin, Blake Simmons of Tiptonville, Abigail Arnett (Mitch) of Union City and Madison White (Connor) of Obion; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Susan (James) Hickman and Sherry (James) Simmons; her stepson, Robert Lynn McMillon; four sisters, infant Omelia Huey, Lavelle Long, Maxine Mitchell and Rose Huey; and two brothers, David Huey and Bill Huey.
