Wesley Pleasant
Clyde Wesley Pleasant, 60, of Union City died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
Born July 30, 1964, in St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of the late Clyde Junior Pleasant and Maie Katherine Pleasant.
Wesley worked at Northwest Correctional Complex over 10 years out of Tiptonville.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Stacey Pleasant; one son, Jonathon Pleasant of Union City; one daughter, Jilly Kirk of Newbern; two stepchildren, Anna and Kaley; 10 grandchildren; and a host of extended family members that he loved dearly.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, David Whitner.
Wesley loved the Lord and his family. Spending time with his family was one of his greatest joys and counted as one of his greatest blessings. Wesley played many different roles in his life: son, brother, dad, husband, grandfather, friend and much more. Wesley was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. Whether it was changing a tire or fixing the plumbing, from watching his grandchildren participating in sports to sitting on the patio with his cousins and having breakfast with his mother, Wesley was truly a family man. His kindness, warmth, love for his family will be dearly missed, but his cherished memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him forever.
Memorial services will be held Friday, March 14, at Calvary Baptist Church in Union City starting at 6 p.m. Officiating this service will be pastor Melvin Poe.
