Easter Owens
Easter Paulette (Cook) Owens, 81, of the Pleasant Hill community went home to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Hall and Pastor Norman D. Adams officiated. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.
Pallbearers were Gage King, Griffin Gibson, Ozzy Slaughter, Blake Laws, Trey Summers, Drew Kennon, Neel King, Chad Slaughter and Rob Frazier.
Honorary pallbearers were Lexi King Summers, Brooke Laws Kennon and Kelly Kesterson King.
Easter was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Lake County, daughter of the late John Henderson Cook and Mattie Lou (Blassingame) Cook. She was a graduate of Bruce Business College. Easter married David Owens Aug. 31, 1973. She had been employed as a secretary at the former Reelfoot Packing Company and retired from West State Corrections as a administrative secretary. Easter was known for her hospitality and love of cooking. She enjoyed shopping with her girls and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Easter was a member of Union City First Assembly of God.
She is survived by her husband, David Owens of the Pleasant Hill community; two daughters, Carol Sullivan King and husband, Neel, and Paula Sullivan Slaughter and husband, Chad, all of the Pleasant Hill community; one bonus daughter, Debbie Owens Frazier and husband, Rob, of Bells; six grandchildren, Gage King and wife, Kelly, of Dyersburg, Griffin Gibson of the Pleasant Hill community, Lexi King Summers and husband, Trey, of Union City, Ozzy Slaughter of the Pleasant Hill community, Blake Laws of Union City and Brooke Laws Kennon and husband, Drew, of Marion, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and eight brothers.
